Student Selection Arrangement
Applicants will be invited to undergo a student selection process to ascertain their eligibility for the programme
Selection Criteria

Learning attitude;

Bodily ability;
-
Creative thinking; and
-
Communication and interpersonal skills
Selection Procedure
Online Assessment - Applicants are required to submit an online assessment form, which includes:

Online Assessment Link (Chinese version only; applicants will have to sign in their Google account in order to submit the form)

A Dance Study Experience Form (if applicable); and
-
A Other Performance Experience Form (if applicable).

Submission Deadline: on or before 2 May 2024 (Thursday)
Face-to-Face Audition - Applicants are required to attend a face-to-face audition on either 4 May or 11 May 2024 (Saturday). The audition schedule will be announced via the Education Bureau platform or applicant’s secondary school.
*Remarks: Applicants are advised to arrive the audition venue 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
Audition venue: Dance Studio 2, 4/F, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
The audition includes:

Physique test movements;
-
Dance combination;
-
Improvisation; and
-
1-min self-introduction (if necessary)
When attending the audition, applicants must comply to the dress code listed below:

Slim-fit outfits, e.g. leotard;
-
Neat and tidy hair;
-
Barefoot or wearing socks; and
-
Loos-fitting outfits, jeans, and any accessories are NOT allowed.

Taking a Chance on Dance is one of the Applied Learning (ApL) courses offered to senior secondary students as an elective subject within the senior secondary curriculum. This course focuses on the aesthetic aspect of dance by engaging students in ta holistic experience as people, dancers and makers of dance through the “Three Key Learning Processes: Performing, Creating and Appreciation”. It involves learning to perform and create dance, learning to appreciate and appraise dance, and using dance to support cognitive learning. The course also provides an all-around training to students, in developing their creativity and imagination, and on the other hand enhancing their interpersonal relations and self-confidence. This course is conducted in Chinese.
