WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT?
PLAY WITH VOICE II: Shaping the Storytelling Voice is the advanced course in the PLAY WITH VOICE series. Building on the foundation of vocal awareness, alignment, articulation, and authenticity introduced in PLAY WITH VOICE I, this 10-hour advanced programme (5 sessions, 2 hours each) explores how to transform your voice into a compelling storytelling instrument.
Through the three core dimensions of Agility, Charisma, and Empathy (ACE), participants learn to shape narrative arc, embody character voices, and cultivate emotional resonance. The course supports participants in delivering diverse story genres — including personal anecdotes, family stories, branding, humour, and professional narration — with authenticity and audience awareness.
The programme integrates cognitive and kinaesthetic learning. It combines concise lectures and case discussions with actor-based voice and movement exercises, improvisation, role play, rhythm exploration, and collaborative story development.
Across five sessions, participants progressively develop their capstone storytelling piece. The final session is dedicated to a storytelling showcase.
By the end of the course, each participant will craft and perform a 5–7-minute storytelling piece in English, Cantonese, or Putonghua. Participants may invite up to three guests to attend the showcase.
TEACHING MEDIUM
The course is conducted in English and supplemented with Cantonese.
The capstone storytelling performance may be delivered in English, Cantonese, or Putonghua.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
This course is designed for participants aged 16 or above who have completed PLAY WITH VOICE I or possess prior experience in public speaking or voice training.
It is ideal for service professionals, marketers, educators, performers, content creators, and anyone interested in exploring how voice embodies story, emotion, imagination, and presence.
