WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT?
PLAY WITH VOICE II: Shaping the Storytelling Voice is the advanced course in the PLAY WITH VOICE series. Building on the foundation of vocal awareness, alignment, articulation, and authenticity introduced in PLAY WITH VOICE I, this 16-hour advanced course (8 sessions, 2 hours each) explores how to transform your voice into a powerful storytelling instrument.
Through the three core dimensions of Agility, Charisma, and Empathy (ACE), participants will learn how to deliver different story genres, such as personal anecdotes, family history, brand stories, jokes, fairy tales, ghost stories, etc., in an authentic voice resonating with the target audience.
The course blends cognitive, discourse, and kinaesthetic learning — combining lectures and case discussions with actor’s voice and movement exercises, improvisation, role play, and collaborative story creation.
By the end of the course, each participant will craft and perform a 5–7-minute storytelling piece in English, Cantonese, or Putonghua as a capstone project, showcasing their storytelling voice with confidence, authenticity, and expressive range. Participants can invite up to 3 guests to the classroom to enjoy the performance.
TEACHING MEDIUM
The course is taught in English and supplemented with Cantonese. The capstone storytelling performance may be in English, Cantonese, or Putonghua.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
This course is designed for participants aged 16 or above who have completed PLAY WITH VOICE I or have prior experience in public speaking or voice training. It is ideal for communicators, marketers, educators, service professionals, performers, and anyone who wishes to explore how voice embodies story, emotion, and imagination.
WHAT SHOULD PARTICIPANTS PREPARE FOR THE COURSE?
Classes involve voice work with half and full-body movement, including floor exercises. Please prepare:
• A yoga mat and towel (for floor work)
• Drinking water • Comfortable clothing suitable for movement
• Anti-slip socks (optional)
• A notebook for story development
• Avoid heavy meals before class.
• And most importantly — your curiosity and courage to play!
