Led by renowned Hong Kong musical playwright Cheung Fei-fan, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the creative and dramatic foundations of musical playwriting. Participants will gain insight into the structure and development of musical scripts, examine the relationship between character, story and song, and discover how playwrights shape narratives for the musical stage. Drawing examples from local or international classical musicals, the workshop will feature the analysis of scripts and performance excerpts, offering a deeper understanding of how text is transformed into a powerful theatrical experience.
