Uyghur dance is a vibrant, highly expressive art form characterized by fast footwork, rigid torso alignment, and intricate, fluid wrist and head movements. Originating from the Xinjiang region in Central Asia, this dance tradition functions as both a celebratory social ritual and a highly technical performance art. It serves as a living historical record of a culture shaped by Silk Road trade, shifting religions, and nomadic herding traditions.
