Hong Kong's unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures, along with its mix of old and new traditions, provides a vibrant urban environment that serves as a creative wellspring for filmmakers. As one of the Kowloon Peninsula’s earliest developed districts, Tsim Sha Tsui is a bustling commercial hub and a must-visit destination for tourists. Since the 1950s, the area has hosted numerous on-location film shoots and was once home to several renowned film companies and cinemas. From the 1980s onward, East Tsim Sha Tsui emerged as a newly developed commercial zone known for its glamour, attracting many film and television productions. Today, the Avenue of Stars along the waterfront honors prominent film figures, while the annual Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony takes place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre—clear proof of the district’s deep connection with local cinema.
