Hong Kong's unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures, along with its mix of old and new traditions, provides a vibrant urban environment that serves as a creative wellspring for filmmakers. As a major commercial district on Hong Kong Island, Causeway Bay gradually developed into a thriving consumption and entertainment hub after the war, attracting several Japanese department stores to establish a presence. With cinemas once densely clustered across the area, legendary grand theatres like the Lee Theatre and Palace Theatre remain fondly talked about by film fans to this day. Amidst rapid urban development, Causeway Bay's eclectic blend of old and new, alongside its distinctive community culture, has consistently made it a popular filming location for both local and overseas productions.

Led by a film culture expert, this event consists of two parts. The morning session will delve into the relationship between Causeway Bay's historical and cultural development and cinema, featuring screenings of film clips shot in the district and an analysis of how filmmakers utilize the camera lens to showcase urban space.

The afternoon session will be a guided walking tour exploring various corners of Causeway Bay's streets and alleys, visiting classic movie filming locations, and sharing fascinating community anecdotes and insights, allowing participants to rediscover our city through the lens of film.
