Teacher: Yip Yum Lam Henry
Henry graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), majoring in Musical Theatre Dance. He has further studied at The Off Jazz Company in Nice, France, where he continued his research in the style of Matt Mattox. With influence by his mentor such as Mohamed Drissi (HKAPA), Jeffery Bullock (Hollins University), Hugues Salgas (Studio Paris Center), Gianan Loringett (Off-jazz) and David Marquez (WDM), Henry owns a well development in Theater Jazz Dance Style.
He have been awarded The American Dance Festival Scholarship by The Asian Cultural Council and The Broadway Dance Center Scholarship by the WDM. His diverse and valuable performance experiences have given him the opportunity to travel different places, including Macau, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Philippine, Perth, Prague, Doha, Italy, France, Monte-Carlo, and also Malawi and Namibia in Africa.
Henry regularly choreographed musical for different university, school and organisations, choreographing projects include 9 To 5, Annie, Beauty and The Beast, Cats, Cinderella, Fame, Footloose, Grease, High School Musical 1 & 2, The King & I, Oliver, Peter Pan, The Prince Of Egypt, Seven Brides and Seven Brothers, The Sound of Music, Urinetown and The Wizard of Oz. He is also the adjudicator for the Hong Kong Schools Dance Festival, ATOD Pan Asia Dance Competition and The Hong Kong Open Dance Contest.
Henry previously taught at The HKAPA EXCEL BTEC musical theater program and the elective studies at the School of Dance. He also hold Theater Jazz master class for the Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School and The Lee-Ming Institute of Technology of Taiwan. Henry work as a freelance and recently taught for the BFA musical major at the School of Drama HKAPA.
